TOP 9 JAPANESE ANIMATED MOVIES OF 2019
2019 saw some excellent Japanese animated releases. The majority of them were Original video animations of anime series like Code Geas or Fate/Stay Night. These won’t be included here because I don’t consider them stand-alone works: if you don’t watch the anime that the movie is based on, you won’t get the hype surrounding them, and the film itself probably won’t make much sense. However, two of them are included due to the quality of animation and storyline they represent (#2 and #9). The rest of the movies feature different styles, techniques, and genres that all have one thing in common: they stand out, and one takes pleasure in watching them.
