The hostel's view is breathtaking, overlooking Xindian's district forested hills scattered by old houses, rivers, and the northern mountain range. The site is a bit secluded in terms of sightseeing and activity, but a 12 mins walk will take you to the nearest station - note that you can also remedy this by renting bikes from the hostel itself. Don't be fooled by the 'hotel' in Daan Park hotel; the rates it goes for are hostel-rates, and the rooms and general area are small - probably even for hostel spaces. What makes this place stand out is its prime location : 3 minutes away from Dongmen train station and most all the must-see sightseeing activities and attractions in Taipei. Star Hostel Taipei Main Station is -like the name clearly states- near Taipei Main Station, which grants access to any public transport in the city. Allow me to crazy-plant-person pressure you: if you're into plants, book this hostel now as the majority of common space areas are filled to the brim with them and basked by natural sunlight. Their main communal area is even called ''The green lounge''. Apart from the organic decor and eco-friendly vibes, you'll get to enjoy a very generous breakfast and freshly brewed coffee. And if you're more of a night owl, their In-house Alchemist bar brews their very own tap beer. The rooms are quiet and spacious, providing full mattresses, privacy shades, locker space, and the best part (after the plants): soundproofing walls. Couples, in particular, love this location. Five Elements Hostel is located in the trendy Datong district, only 800m from the very popular Taipei Confucius Temple. The hostel is surrounded by street food vendors, bars, and night markets. There's even a vast green park nearby where you can walk or jog at any time of the day, and bike rental is available just outside the building. The facility itself comprises a shared lounge with evening entertainments, a shared kitchen, and a lovely rooftop terrace. 11.UZ Hostel

UZ hostel is the best capsule hotel in Taipei city. If you're not familiar with capsule hotels, the main idea is to replace dormitories with capsules that have the advantage of offering higher comfort, convenience, and privacy. These pods provide better sleeping quality and are each equipped with big-screen TVs - with several English Channels. Star Wars fans gather around: the pod designs resembles that of our beloved space shuttles. Like other hostels, this one also offers a common area that contains several couches to sit and hang out, in addition to tables that could be optimal workspaces. One thing to note is that if you are two people booking, make sure to book separate capsules or a wide one, as not to get stuck in a small pod designed for just one person. The hostel's location is acceptable with nearby markets and shopping places, and the must-see Lin Family Mansion & Gardens is only 10 minutes away.
