❀In-Depth Details Of Interesting Ingredients:
Glycerine: Widely used as a quality Hydrator (occurs naturally in skin and its chemical structure attracts water). You can find this ingredient in most good skin-replenishing products.
Jasminum Officinale Extract / Jasmine Flower Extract: 🔴[Not enough research] Potentially Anti-bacterial + Potentially Antioxidative
Rosa Gallica Flower Extract: Properties vary on extraction method and which part of the flower is extracted, and are usually: Antioxidative + Anti-inflammatory. Depending on the extraction method, the property could also be purely perfuming.
+how to use the L'Oréal Fine Flowers Cleansing Wash for Dry & Sensitive Skin
+what does the L'Oréal Fine Flowers Cleansing Wash for Dry & Sensitive Skin do?
1.Skin is cleansed and free from impurities: The L'Oréal Fine Flowers Cleansing Wash for Dry & Sensitive Skin cleanses surprisingly well for a product designed for such types of skin. If your skin feels dirty, you’ll feel satisfied after a wash with it. When it comes to makeup, however, as you’ll see from the pictures below, this won’t get rid of eye makeup, although the product has been tested under ophthalmological control, and is safe to use around the eye area, if you’re wearing mascara or eyeliner, try to remove it with something like the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution instead, because you’ll need to really rub on your skin if you’re planning on removing it with this cleanser (which would be counter indicative to sensitive skins).
2.Reveals deeply comfortable skin that feels smooth and silky soft: This is a bit of an exaggeration. Your skin won’t feel especially smooth after using the L'Oréal Fine Flowers Cleansing Wash for Dry & Sensitive Skin since there are no exfoliating agents in the formula, so smoothness levels won’t change. Your skin will feel softer if it was originally dirty, but not ‘silky soft’ unless that’s how your skin usually feels. As for the deepness of comfort, this is in correlation to some washes leaving an uncomfortable tightness or dryness feeling after their use: while the Fine Flowers Cleansing Wash won’t leave your skin dry or uncomfortable, I personally wasn’t comfortable enough to go about my day without using at least a toner after cleansing my face. There are cleansers like the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser With Cottonseed or the Pyunkang Yul Low pH Pore Deep Cleansing Foam one, that keep the hydration and moisture locked in your skin to a degree where you’ll feel like you can continue with your life without needing to rehydrate after the cleanse, this L'Oréal cleanser comes close to that feeling but is not quite there.
3.Rose is known for its soothing and comforting properties: As I mentioned in the in-depth ingredient review above, some types of rose extracts are known for their antioxidative and anti-inflammatory (hence soothing and comforting) properties. But these extracts are usually present in higher concentrations in a formula if they are used for these properties, and the extract included in this one is just mentioned as ‘flower extract’, it could still have these properties but also might just be perfuming. If you’re looking for something to soothe out irritating skin, you should look for a product with ingredients that actively target inflammation like the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream. If you have especially irritated skin, try not to wash it as much, to begin with, but if you need to, this cleanser is a good option if you’re want something more affordable but it’s definitely not the best option.
4.Jasmine renowned for its protecting and moisturizing properties: Jasmine is not renowned for these properties. As I mentioned above, there isn’t enough research on this extract to back up any solid claims. Some studies have shown that it might have Antibacterial properties that could be related to ‘protecting’ properties, but for now, the claims are far-fetched. I’m not saying it’s a bad extract, I’m just saying there isn’t any data to really state anything.
As you can see from the pictures, the mascara and eyeliner (not waterproof) are barely removed after the wash. You also need to scrub a bit for the red lipstick to completely go away. If you like wearing makeup, you will definitely need to double-cleanse.
As expected from a product geared towards dry and sensitive skin, this won’t foam up much, but rather turn into a milky white and slightly bubbly consistency. I personally enjoy this consistency during the hotter summer months as it feels lightweight, but if my face feels particularly dirty, I would probably prefer something thicker that cleanses more.
If you don’t have sensitive skin, I won’t recommend this to you as there is no use for it in your routine. Obviously, for oily skins, this ain’t it. For sensitive skins on a budget, I won’t jump up and down and tell you to buy this but you can definitely try it out. If you have dry skin, I don’t feel like this is hydrating enough, but depending on your level of dryness you might enjoy this. If you have currently active or nonactive acne-prone skin, and you’re looking for a simple face wash, you could use it, but I personally think you should be using something that actively targets your acne if it’s active, check out this blog post instead: [10] Anti-Acne products that actually work + A Skincare routine.
Another thing to point out is that L'Oréal is obviously a marketing-genius company. This cleanser isn’t gentle because it contains fine flowers or rose petal extracts. It’s gentle because it contains surfactants like Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate and Coco-Betain, which are mild surfactants that are even used in some baby washes, and synthetic humectants like Peg-75, Sorbitol, Propylene Glycol which give it the ability to be less drying than other cleansers. There is nothing wrong with these ingredients, they are cheap but they work. The only ‘flower extracts in the formula are Jasmine and Rose ones, and they are probably only present to give this cleanser a marketing edge. Otherwise, they don’t do much.
The good thing about the L'Oréal Fine Flowers Cleansing Wash for Dry & Sensitive Skin is that it’s quite affordable (around 5$ in stores), and probably easier to get your hands on than a lot of other skincare products I would usually recommend. That’s the main appeal, and I completely understand that, so in this case, yes, I would recommend it for the skin types mentioned above. However, if you’re buying it online, it’s usually sold for around 12$ on amazon, so I’d rather recommend the Pyunkang Yul Low pH Pore Deep Cleansing Foam cleanser instead.
+benefits:
Very affordable
Good price/quality ratio
Doesn’t contain any harsh ingredients
Actually suitable for sensitive skins!
Easy to find and buy (except if you live in a country that doesn’t have that line)
-CONS
Not particularly suitable for very dry skin types
Doesn’t remove any eye make up
✾ Score: 3.0/5 --- Not an amazing product, but has its own appeal and I actually enjoy the price/quality ratio as well as the overall formulation.
