🔵In-Depth Details Of Interesting Ingredients:
Glycerine: Widely used as a quality Hydrator (occurs naturally in skin and its chemical structure attracts water). You can find this ingredient in most good skin replenishing products.
Panthenol: Moisturizing (penetrates deep into the layers and gets converted into Pantothenic Acid (B5)) + Anti Acne (B5) + Wound healing (B5)
Viola mandshurica flower extract: Not enough clinical data, especially when it comes to topical application, but there are a couple of studies suggesting this is a good preventative ingredient for hyperpigmentation (It inhibits Melanin production)
Gardenia florida fruit extract: Not enough clinical data to support any claim, and it’s typically used as a fragrance in cosmetics
Glyceryl glucoside: Hydrator + Anti-aging ( Inhibits IGF-I, a growth factor that regulates elastin expression which gives skin its elasticity) + Antioxidative
Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil (Jojoba): Rich in Vitamins A, D and E
Verbena officinalis extract: Antioxidant + Possibly Antimicrobial
Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract: Anti-inflammatory (Rosmarinic acid, carnosic acid, and carnosol, exhibit anti-inflammatory activities in particular acne-causing pathogens response) + Antioxidant (Rosmarinic acid and caffeic acid)
Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract: Anti-inflammatory (Terpenes/Flavonoids/α-bisabolol inhibit inflammatory pathway) + Wound Healing
Sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer + Sodium Hyaluronate (simplified text) + Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid + Hyaluronic acid: Basically all these do the same thing but each are molecules of different sizes, click on the hyperlinks to get more details of the individual molecules, and here’s a simple scheme to illustrate what I’m saying. These are all Hydrating (water binding properties) + Wound healing (promotes micro circulation)
Hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans: Usually synthesized in the cell and linked to either elastin or collagen, these molecules participate in maintaining skin structural integrity and are high in water-holding capacity which means they also hydrate your skin.
Madecassoside: Derivative of Centella Asiatica Extract : Wound healing + hypertrophic scar healing properties + promotes collagen production (Acts as an Antioxidant)
Tamarindus indica seed polysaccharide: Antioxidant + Increase of collagen synthesis
+how to use the Aromatica Lively Super Barrier Cica-Panthenol Serum
+what does the Aromatica Lively Super Barrier Cica-Panthenol Serum do?
1.Panthenol and Madecassoside deliver essential moisture that helps hydrate, soothe and lock moisture into skin: For about a month, my skin has fallen into a black hole of acne and irritation due to hormones, so I decided it was a great time to try out this serum. I’ve completely finished it since then (because the bottle is so darn small) and I can confidently say this did absolutely nothing to soothe down my skin. It provides moisture due to it being kind of like a cream even though it’s in serum form (it doesn’t get absorbed efficiently and my face ends up glowy and sticky in an uncomfortable way throughout a good half of the day), but I don’t feel like this hydrated my skin - not enough anyway - and I ended up always reaching for something extra like the Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence By Skinfood.
2.Five molecular sizes of Hyaluronic Acid help replenish skin to make it appear more supple, full and smooth: Even with all these different sizes, the formulation work as such that it does not sink into the skin easily, I saw no change when it came to suppleness, fullness or smoothness - no change whatsoever.
3.Violet extract helps soothing dry and irritated skin: As stated above, Viola mandshurica flower extract ‘effects’ are not really backed by studies due to the lack of them. It MIGHT be soothing, only future studies can tell, but whether it is or not, the way it’s incorporated in this formulation does not lead to noticeably soothing effects.
This is another case of a skincare product being composed of good ingredients that don’t necessarily interact well together or in the way they are incorporated with filler ingredients (texturizers, solvent, … ). A very simple example would be adding hyaluronic acid to a very thick base with big molecules, would you expect it to get absorbed into your skin?
Is this product occlusive? Meaning does it provide moisture? Yes, it does, but it doesn’t do much else. For such a small product, it’s not the most affordable basic moisturizer either. Now, it is important to note that my skin barrier wasn’t doing its best when I first started using this product, as such, it didn’t really absorb anything as easily as it used to, but shouldn’t a skincare product whose whole marketing basis lies in the fact that it ‘rebuilds moisture barrier’’ be able to actually get absorbed by said barrier?
All in all, I would not recommend this product. However, the AROMATICA - Lively Super Barrier Cica-Panthenol Serum has a lot of good reviews online (granted, not a lot, which makes me wonder how legit and authentic these reviews are, to begin with, as they seem to only present themselves In a maximum of 8 reviews, all perfect stars and are formulated the same way) and people with ‘acneic’ or ‘oily’ skin seem to like it, what I’m trying to say is, supposedly, a lot of people this product.
If you have acneic or oily skin, I would still reach for the Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence By Skinfood instead.
+benefits:
Well designed bottle
-cons
Doesn’t really get deeply absorbed
Leaves skin overly shiny
Very expensive on most resellers (30$) for the amount of product you get (but is 14.9$ on yesstyle)
Does not accomplish most of its claims
🔷Score: 1.0/5 --- Didn’t do anything for me. Gets a 1 for well designed packaging and for the fact that at least it did not give me any adverse reaction. Just a ‘this does absolutely nothing and doesn’t change anything’ feeling.
